Hello Kitty!

I can now post pix of the items I made for the Craftster Hello Kitty swap because my partner received her package today. She loved everything so that made me happy!! First, I made her a messenger bag. She is a college student so hopefully it will be useful. The flap of the bag is made from a pillow panel I bought on ebay. And there are 2 pocket on inside made from the same panel. I added buttons on the front for embellishment.

Then, I made a set of greeting cards using a new aloha stamp that I love! She also is a fan of Chococat so I made a wristlet with his face on the front. Chococat's head is actually an oval yoyo turned backwards with buttons and ears added.

She also had a beaded bracelet on her wist, so I used it as inspiration for a Hello Kitty memory wire bracelet. I found silver Hello Kitty beads and charms on ebay for a really reasonable price. I have a lot of those beads left over. Yay!

I grew up with Hello Kitty and continue to collect her today, 30 years later! I can't wait to get my swap package....

4 Ever Best Friends

I collect dolls, and was lucky enough to find these girls at a thrift store in the Outer Banks while vacationing. Despite the wild bent hair they were in pretty good shape, but I didn't know what type of doll they were. After some searching I found that they are known as 4 Ever Best Friends and they were made in 2004 by the same company that makes Bratz. Here is the before pic:

And after they got some much needed pampering:

I think they are sooo cute. They are not easy to find, they are randomly on ebay but the prices are A LOT higher than what I paid at the thrift store. LOL I know they are not valuable but I think they are very sweet. :-)

McGruff's Family Reunion

This is McGruff, he's a doxie/min pin mix I made for a fellow Craftster in trade for one of the quilts in her shop. This is her Etsy store:

His Mama was a doxie and his Papa was a min pin. She asked for 2 dogs, but I decided he needed both is parents.

Actually, I LOVE min pins and HAD to make one. I think he is sooo cute. She doesn't know about him so I hope she is excited when he arrives!

Here fishy fishy...

I used my giant cupcake pan to make a thank you cake for the girls who fed my son's fish while we were at the beach. We used Fruity Pebbles for the gravel and Twizzlers for the grass. When you stretch the Twizzlers they look perfect! I haven't had Fruity Pebbles around for probably 20+ years. They smell so yummy, I know what I'm having for breakfast tomorrow LOL! :-)

Doxie Love

I had an order at my Etsy shop for some of my mini dachshund pups. I hadn't made any in a while and forgot how cute they are!! Then I remembered I had started a bigger baby safe version for a friend and went back to work on it. I just was not happy with it and decided to pitch it. I hate to throw almost done projects away, but I just didn't feel like it was up to snuff. I did salvage his ears though, and now I'll have to go back to the drawing board on that pattern. But in the meantime, here is some puppy love for you! xoxo
